City Farm SLO
San Luis Obispo
A nonprofit farm stand where anyone can take up to $30 off, no questions asked
About
City Farm SLO's stand on Calle Joaquin, near Froom Ranch, sells what the farm and its partner farmers grow: vegetables, fruit, cut flowers, eggs, and pasture-raised chicken, beef and lamb while it lasts. Bread Bike loaves and wool from the farm's own sheep turn up too. It runs on a pay-what-you-can model, so any shopper can take up to $30 off their fruit and vegetables.
The farm sits on the city's Calle Joaquin Agricultural Reserve, where the nonprofit has looked after 19 acres since 2013, subleasing 13 of them to small farmers. A wash-pack pavilion named for founders Steven and Jan Marx was set to open in May 2026 as the stand's permanent home. The pay-what-you-can setup began in August 2025, and sales more than tripled in its first week.
