Avila Valley Barn
Avila Valley ยท U-pick
Produce, fresh pie, roasted corn, farm animals and fall U-pick on the road to Avila
About
Avila Valley Barn is a lot more than a fruit stand. Next to the produce floor there is a bakery (pumpkin pie is baked daily in fall), a Sweet Shoppe for candy, a corn roaster, the Chicken Shack and Smoke House for lunch, and fresh apple cider. Kids can feed animals at the corrals, ride ponies or take a hay ride through the orchards, and fall brings U-pick pumpkins and flowers.
It began in the mid-1980s as little more than a table and an umbrella by the road. Dr. John DeVincenzo, the orthodontist who also started Gopher Glen, hired Debbie Smith in 1986 to live on the farm and sell fruit, and she later bought in as a partner. In 2019 Debbie stepped back and her twin sons, Jake and Jesse Smith, took over with Jake's wife, Raven.
